Contixo is a tech company selling many drones and other products, they have many successful drones on sites such as Amazon, in this blog, we review the F18 a powerful medium-end drone. It offers 1080p HD video quality with a 120º FOV lens. It also comes with a WiFi connection which provides you with faster but clearer image transmission.

The Contixo F18 is a great beginner’s drone or for the more experienced users as well, it also has an affordable price and decent video quality. The Contixo F18 also comes with various modes such as the “Auto-Return” mode which is very useful, were the drone will return to you automatically when the battery or signal is low.

Like most drones, the Contixo F18 is a quadcopter drone with 4 propellers with protection. The camera of the Contixo F18 is mounted on the drone, a downside to this drone is that the camera doesn’t come on any gimbal or stabilization for the video.

The Specs

The Contixo F18 drone uses a 1080p camera with WiFi connection and FPV and GPS connection. The F18 can go as far as 600 meters with a video connection. It also has a powerful 2100 mAH batteries.

Stabilization

The Contixo F18 doesn’t come with any stabilization, no gimbal, or electronic video stabilization to get clearer pictures.

The stabilization isn’t the best in this drone if you want smoother videos you will have to fly slower and gently and try not to fly in windy conditions.

Battery

The Contixo F18 comes with a rechargeable 7.4V 2100mAh battery which you can charge with the USB Battery Charger, which can last about 20 minutes recording at 1080p.

The battery is situated at the bottom back inside, where there is a cover that gives access to the battery. The F18 comes with 2 batteries, whenever the first one runs out you can put the first one to charge right away and use the second one for more flight time, you could get more if you wanted.

Design

The Contixo F18 has an elegant modern design, it is well built with good quality plastics and it has a nice blueish color. Its design is similar to most drones, it feels pretty durable and has the ability to replace and switch pieces such as the protectors and propellers. It can fly up to 600 meters with a video connection.

The dimensions of the Contixo drone are 12 x 12 x 3 inches and weighs 1 pound, it’s a decent-sized drone, all the adjustments and controls will be made from the controller and its screen with the live video, it also comes with a smartphone attachment for it to fly in FPV.

The drone has a classic quadcopter look with or without protective propellor blades, you can choose what you prefer, under the body we can see the landing legs and the 1080p camera to record your videos.

Modes

The Contixo F18 comes with many useful modes to help you fly and have better flying experience as well as having more fun with cool acrobatics and voice control.

Altitude Hold mode uses a powerful air pressure altitude to hold function and can accurately lock the height and location of the drone so it can stay still in the air. Easy for you to shoot quality images or videos.

The Global Positioning System undoubtedly offers a carefree flight. The GPS system makes the F18 fully aware of your location and lets you know, move precisely, and park quickly.

It has 3 functions to return to the main location to protect the F18 and automatically return to the starting point with precision when the battery is low or the control signal is weak. Your F18 drone will always be under control.

With the app, you can draw a path you want your drone to follow, and the drone will fly following the path accordingly without having to control the drone yourself.

The Contixo F18 has a headless mode that allows you to fly no matter what direction the aircraft is facing, the forward stick is forward, and the back stick is backward.

The Gravity Sensor mode enables the quadcopter F18 to follow the direction you move your smartphone. It also supports VR FPV (First Person View) live flight.

The F18 also allows you to change between different flying speeds, high, medium, and low, which makes this suitable for beginners and experts. You can even try switching the different speed modes when the drone is in flight for more fun.

My opinion

The Contixo F18 drone is a great option for most people who are looking for a great budget-quality drone with a great price, it’s a great option for beginners and more experienced flyers who want to upgrade to a better drone as well.

The F18 has all basic drone features plus more, as well as good flight, decent 2 batteries and video support but it has a downside which is it’s stabilization since it doesn’t come with any gimbal or EIS.

The F18 is pretty easy to learn and will get you all those great aerial shots you would want in a drone and the great features it has will help you, it also carries a 2100 mAh battery which can last a decent time with the price of the drone.

The 1080p camera is situated on the front of the drone and thanks to the LED lights at the front we can see where the drone is flying and easier for night-time or low-light flying, we can also see LED in the bottom which indicates the calibration.

If you are looking for an FPV drone, this one will work well as well, it supports FPV and can go as far as 600 meters and you are able to use modes with just 1 button.
