The SNAPTAIN SP650 Pro is a successful drone by the SNAPTAIN brand. SNAPTAIN is a pretty big producer in the drone market with some very successful models especially on sites such as Amazon. It offers 2.7K video quality with a 90º adjustable design and 120º FOV lens. It also comes with a 5G WiFi connection which provides you with faster but clearer image transmission.
The SNAPTAIN SP650 Pro doesn’t produce the bad quality but it doesn’t produce the best image quality either, quality-price is pretty good. The SP650 Pro is a great beginner’s drone or for the more experienced users as well, it’s easy and fun to fly and comes with many different modes explained below.
SNAPTAIN’s controller is also pretty good, and it’s comfortable and easy to use with its dual handles, above the controller you can put your smartphone of all sizes when it runs out of battery you just need to charges it with its charging cable. This model is also compatible with FPV (First Person View) drones for live transmission and has GPS.

The Snaptain SP650 Pro drone comes equipped with a 2.7K built-in camera, the camera uses 90° camera tilt, up to 120° field of view (FOV) to ensure you record and explore wide-angle aerial views. The SP650 Pro can go as far as 120m (395ft) with a transmitter range.
The Snaptain SP650 Pro uses a modular battery of 1000mAh which can last about 12 min, a negative side of the battery is the charging time which can take up to 2 hours.
The remote controller on the Snaptain is rather classic, with two joysticks to control the drone while flying and a few buttons for various functions and modes. It fits well in your hands and you can easily see what’s happening with your smartphone. However, you will need 4 AA batteries, not supplied, to operate the remote control.
Some drones are considered Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and they must be registered with the FAA, the SP650 Pro is not one of them and doesn’t need to be registered for the FAA.

Video and Flight Stabilization
The Snaptain SP650 Pro comes equipped with a 2.7K (2976 x 1680) camera up to 25 fps, which will give you average-looking footage. The colors are not the best and it can be a bit blurry sometimes, but it gives a good aerial shot from far. Don’t expect to get drone quality with drones like DJI.
The SD card slot supports 64GB Max micro SD cards. (SD card not included). Without an SD card the drone’s footage can be saved directly to the phone without any problem, but with lower quality.
The 120° wide-angle lens expands your view, and the 90° adjustable design meets various requirements for different shooting purposes. It uses 5G WiFi Transmission, for high-quality real-time image transmission, you can share the incredible scenery online.
As for the flight stabilization, the SP650 Pro doesn’t come with a gimbal so your videos won’t be as smooth as if there was one.
Battery
The Snaptain SP650 Pro comes with a rechargeable 3.7V 1000 mAh modular battery which you can charge with the USB Battery Charger, which can last about 12 minutes, it will take about 2h to charge them. The modular battery is designed for safety and flexibility.
The battery is situated at the bottom inside, where there is a cover that gives access to the battery. The good thing about the SP650 Pro is that it comes with 2 batteries so you can quickly change them when the first one runs out.
Design
The Snaptain SP650 Pro has an elegant modern design, it is well built with good quality plastics and it has a nice black color with some gold stripes on the propellers.
Its design is the classic quadcopter look with 4 propellers similar to most drones such as DJI, it feels pretty tough but being a small drone it’s easy for the wind to make it crash. If one of your propellers got damaged you are able to replace and switch them.
The dimensions of the Snaptain SP650 Pro are 27 x 27 x 11 cm (10.6 x 10.6 x 4.3″) and weighs 125g (4.41 oz), all the adjustments and controls will be made from the controller. It can fly up to 120 meters with the transmitter connection.
The Snaptain SP650 Pro comes with 4 replaceable propellers without any protection propellor guards, under the body we can see the landing legs, below we see the action camera mount with a gimbal holding it for stable videos.
Modes and Features
The Snaptain SP650 Pro comes with a GPS system, having a GPS system tracker can provide you with accurate positioning details of your drone. Many modes of the SP600N work thanks to the GPS system.
Flight mode by trajectory or “Waypoint mode”, allows you to pre-program a sequence of actions by drawing a flight course in your app interface and the SP650 Pro will follow. There are 5 ratio options available to meet all kinds of needs.
When the drone has lost signal or is low battery or when you can press a button and it will fly automatically using the auto return to home and land function. It also has a low-battery alert so you know when you are running out of battery. It also comes with a one-key Take Off/Land.
The Gravity Sensor mode allows the drone to follow you. However, it does not work superbly well if you move quickly. The Altitude Hold mode is a default setting on the drone, it can precisely lock the height in the air.
Snaptain allows you to take photos or videos with simple hand signs. Gesture control allows you to pose for the camera to activate the phone and video recording. Pose a victory sign to the camera, the drone will take a photo with a 3-second countdown; pose an open palm sign to the camera, the drone will start or end the video recording.
The SP650 Pro comes with voice control, which allows you to talk to your drone to control the direction it moves, which adds some fun to your flight. Recognizable commands: Take off, land, forward, backward, left, right, and stop.
The SNAPTAIN SP650 Pro has also multiple flight modes, the headless mode allows you to fly no matter what direction the aircraft is facing, the forward stick is forward, and the back stick is backward.
The SP650 Pro is a versatile drone. It can perform 360° stunt spin, circle flight, and high-speed rotation. Combined with trajectory flight that allows you to draw flight courses on your phone, the SP650 Pro drone offers you spectacular flight experiences.
Many of the Snaptain SP650 Pro’s features can be controlled with the smartphone app that you can easily install and take control of the drone with it.
My opinion
The Snaptain SP650 Pro drone is a decent budget drone, I recommend checking out the Snaptain SP600N (Click Here) before getting this one which comes with some better features. The Snaptain SP650 Pro for its price has all the basic drone features and a lot of useful modes, as well as pretty good flight.
The Snaptain SP650 Pro for beginners is pretty easy to learn and will get you all those great aerial shots you would want in a starter drone with its 2.7K camera, a con to the SP650 Pro is the wind since it’s pretty small it’s more difficult to fly in windy conditions.
The SP650 Pro also carries 2 1000 mAh battery which will give you plenty of time to record between both of them even though you can’t go too far, up to 120m.
