The DJI Air 2S drone can record up to 5.4K and record 4K/60fps and take pictures up to 20MP. For its image sensor, it uses a 1″ CMOS which captures great image quality, is the camera has a FOV of 88° and an aperture of f/2.8. It records with a 10-bit D-Log color profile.
The Air 2S uses a 3-axis (tilt, roll, pan) gimbal for the camera which stabilizes the videos and produces better videos with your drone camera.

Video and Flight Stabilization
The Air 2S comes equipped with an adjustable 5.4K camera which produces high-quality videos, the camera comes with 3-axis self-stabilizing gimbal technology, it will provide clear pictures and smooth videos and will keep the footage from being blurry.
The camera on the drone can take pictures at 5472×3648 pixels and 5472×3078p video.
The image quality on the DJI Air 2S is excellent, it offers pretty natural colors and the sensor provides a 12.8-stop dynamic range that retains more details in highlights and shadow, the camera uses a FOV of 88° wide-angle lens.
The new Air 2S comes with new HDR technology which improves the dynamic range of images by merging multiple shots automatically. Thanks to this new technology we get more details in both the highlights and shadows.
Thanks to its 10-bit D-Log color profile, the DJI Air 2S offers a more natural sky color gradation, retaining more detail to allow for greater flexibility in post-production as well as overall excellent colors.
Shoot RAW format photos with a dynamic range of up to 12.6 stops to capture more visual information in every scene, even when lighting conditions are bad or complex. This provides more flexibility in post-processing, giving creators more possibilities to get the look they want.

Battery
As for the battery, the Air 2S comes with a rechargeable 3500 mAh 12V battery which you can charge with the USB Battery Charger, which can last about 31 minutes, it will take about 2h to charge them.
The battery is situated at the back of the drone, where a cover gives access to the battery. You can also always buy separate batteries for it and change them whenever the first battery runs out.
The Air 2S drone comes with a single battery, if you plan on recording for a long time you can get a 2n battery so you can change them quickly and keep recording whenever the first one runs out and get double the flight time.
Design
The Air 2S has an elegant modern design in the same style as most modern drones in a nice light-grey color, the materials feel good quality and resistant. The Air 2S is capable of being folded to be carried easier and fit into smaller spaces.
Its design is the classic quadcopter look with 4 propellers similar to most DJI drones, it feels pretty tough and can resist a bit of wind. If one of your propellers got damaged you can replace and switch them.
The dimensions of the DJI Air 2S when extended are 18 × 25 × 7.7 cm (7 x 10 x 3 in), when the drone is folded its size, is 18 × 9.7 × 7.7 cm (7 x 3.7 x 3 in) and its weight is 595g (1.3 lbs).
The DJI Air 2S comes with a new Advanced Pilot Assistance Systems (APAS 4.0) which has the ability to perceive its environment in four directions: up, down, forward, and backward, allowing Air 2S to actively avoid obstacles in more complicated environments and at high speeds.
The DJI Air 2S comes with 4 propellers without any protection propellor guards, under the body we can see small landing legs, and on the front we see the action camera mount with a gimbal holding it for stable videos.
Modes and Features
The DJI Air 2S comes with many modes and features to improve your flying experience and make it easier and more fun for beginners.
The MasterShots mode produces incredible shots in any location with just a tap, select your subject, and the Air 2S will film while executing ten different maneuvers in sequence, keeping your subject center-frame.
The DJI Air 2S comes with an advanced return home mode. One-touch low-power return or out-of-range return. Whether your drone loses connection to the transmitter or runs low power, the Fancool drone is designed to return to its point of origin safely.
The Spotlight 2.0 mode allows the drone’s camera to focus on a subject as it flies in a spiral pattern of a different flying pattern, the zoom function also enables clear shots at a distance.
The ActiveTrack 4.0 is a mode that will let your drone follow the subject while it avoids obstacles autonomously. Even if the subject is momentarily lost, you can quickly resume tracking.
The Point of Interest 3.0 mode allows the drone to fly around the subject keeping it centered, creating a cool cinematic look.
The DJI Air 2S is equipped with the Advanced Pilot Assistance Systems (APAS 4.0) a mode to make the Air 2S avoid complex obstacles with algorithms even at high speed. This allows you to fly confidently and safely wherever you are and in any direction.
ADS-B signals information, which stands for Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) works by giving us extra flight location information from airplanes and helicopters in your area that transmit ADS-B signals, thanks to this information we can know what to avoid in the sky, it also provides audio and visual alerts through the DJI Fly app.
The remote controller on the DJI Air 2S is high-end as well giving you access to all of its controls. It fits well in your hands and you can easily see what’s happening with your smartphone screen for live video.
My opinion
The DJI Air 2S drone is without a doubt one of the best drones available, I definitely recommend getting it if you are looking for a high-end good drone. As for the video recording aspect the Air 2S offers up stunning images with up to 5.4K video resolution and can you can capture videos and images and fly for a long time with its 31 min flight.
Its design works great as well, being a bit smaller and lighter than the famous Mavic 2 Pro. Learning to fly can be a bit challenging but at the same time, it’s a fun hobby to learn to fly this drone and doesn’t feel like a chore to have to practice to get better at flying.
DJI has shown once again why its one of the best drone producers with the Air 2S with the many positive reviews, and in my opinion, I recommend getting it if you are looking for a great high-end drone and don’t mind spending a good amount for it, we hope this review was helpful.
