The DJI Mavic 3 drone can record up to 5.1K and record 4K/120fps and take pictures up to 20MP. The Mavic 3 uses a small gimbal for the camera which gives some nice stable videos with your drone camera. 

The DJI Mavic 3 can go as far as 15 km max transmission range and can fly a total distance of 30 km, and fly at a max altitude of 6000 m above sea level. The Mavic 3 uses GPS + Galileo + BeiDouHover.

The Mavic 3 uses the CMOS 4/3 sensor which captures great image quality. It records with a 10-bit D-Log color profile.

This drone also comes with rechargeable 15.4 V 5000 mAh batteries. The Mavic 3 drone allows you to fly up to 46 minutes when they’re charged and takes about 2h to charge.

The camera on the drone is able to take pictures at 4000 x 3000 pixels and 5120 × 2700p video thanks to its sensor. It uses an 84° FOV lens with an aperture of f/2.8 to f/11. The max video bitrate when recording in H.264/H.265 is 200 Mb/s.

The Mavic 3 supports up to 512GB SD cards, it supports MicroSD SDXC or UHS-I cards, microSD cards are not suitable for recording Apple ProRes 422 HQ codec.

Video and Flight Stabilization

The Mavic 3 comes equipped with an adjustable 5.1K camera which will give you pretty good-looking footage, the camera comes with 3-axis self-stabilizing gimbal technology, it will provide clear pictures and smooth videos and will keep the footage steady.

The image quality on the DJI Action 3 is really good, it offers pretty natural colors and the sensor provides a 12.8-stop dynamic range that retains more details in highlights and shadow, the camera uses a FOV of 84° wide-angle lens.

The DJI Mavic 3 uses some great autofocus technology called VDAF which automatically detects where the camera should focus with great accuracy. The Mavic 3 also uses a larger sensor which keeps images sharp even in low light.

Thanks to its 10-bit D-Log color profile, the Mavic 3 offers a more natural sky color gradation, retaining more detail to allow for greater flexibility in post-production.

As for the battery, the Mavic 3 comes with a rechargeable 5000 mAh 15.4V battery which you can charge with the USB Battery Charger, which can last about 46 minutes, it will take about 2h to charge them.

The battery is situated at the bottom inside, where there is a cover that gives access to the battery. You can also always buy separate batteries for it and change them whenever the first battery runs out.

The Mavic 3 drone comes with a single battery, if you plan on recording for a long time you can get a 2n battery so you can change them quickly and keep recording whenever the first one runs out.


The Mavic 3 has an elegant modern design, it is well built with good quality plastics which feel pretty resistant, and it has a nice grey color. The Mavic 3 is capable of being folded to be carried easier.

Its design is the classic quadcopter look with 4 propellers similar to most DJI drones, it feels pretty tough and can resist a bit of wind. If one of your propellers got damaged you are able to replace and switch them.

The dimensions of the Mavic 3 when extended are 34.7 × 28 × 10.7 cm (13.6 x 11 x 4.2 in) when the drone is folded its size is 22 × 9.6 × 9 cm (8.6 x 3.7 x 3.5 in) and its weight is 895g (2 lbs).

The DJI Mavic 3 comes with new improved obstacle detection security, we can find multiple sensors on the Mavic, 2 on the front of the drone, 2 more sensors on the bottom, 2 sensors on top, and 2 sensors in the back.

The Mavic 3 comes with 4 replaceable propellers without any protection propellor guards, under the body we can see small landing legs, below we see the action camera mount with a gimbal holding it for stable videos.

The DJI Mavic 3 drone is one of the best drones you can find, I definitely recommend getting it if you are looking for a high-end drone and are willing to spend some money on it. The Mavic 3 offers up to 5.1K video with great quality and has all the basic drone features and more, as well as good flight, battery, and features.

One of the best aspects of this drone is its range and battery time, lasting 46 minutes and flying as far as 30 km and 15 km with transmission range, the Mavic 3 comes with live transmission from your smartphone to be able to fly from the drones perspective.
