The Potensic D88 is a successful drone by the Potensic brand. Potensic is a pretty big producer in the drone market with some very successful models especially on sites such as Amazon, in this blog, we review the D88 a powerful medium-end foldable drone. It offers 2K video quality with a 120º FOV lens. It also comes with WiFi connection which provides you with faster but clearer image transmission.

The Potensic D88 is a great beginner’s drone or for the more experienced users as well, it also has an affordable price and good video quality. The Potensic D88 also comes with various modes with accurate GPS positioning such as the “Follow Me” mode which is very useful, were the drone will follow you wherever you go.

Like most drones, the Potensic D88 is a quadcopter drone with 4 propellers with protection. The camera of the Potensic D88 is mounted on the drone, a downside to this drone is that the camera doesn’t come on any gimbal or stabilization for the video.

Potensic’s controller is also very good, it’s comfortable and easy to use with its dual handles, above the controller you can put your smartphone of all sizes when it runs out of battery you just need to charges it with its charging cable. This model is also compatible with FPV (First Person View) drones for live transmission and has GPS.

The Specs

The Potensic D88 drone uses a 2K camera with WiFi connection and FPV and GPS connection. The D88 can go as far as 300 meters with a video connection. It also has a powerful 3400 mAH battery

The camera has a FOV adjustable angle lens up to 120° which gives you a nice look at your videos. It uses WiFi Transmission, for the high-quality real-time image transmission, you can share the incredible scenery with social media.

It also comes with many modes, the “follow me” or “draw a route” mode, it also has an advanced return Home option, this option will make the drone fly up a few meters and back to you, Gesture control and more.

The Potensic has the ability to fold so it’s easier to carry. The package also includes drone protection guards which can protect people and property and extra propellers in case the ones you have get damaged and need to be replaced.

This drone also comes with a rechargeable 3400 mAh batteries. The D88 drone allows you to fly up to 20 minutes when they’re charged.

Control

The Potensic D88 has a brushless motor with lower noise, these motors help improve the drone’s stability and increase the durability. With the brushless motors, the drone is wind-proof and you can enjoy better heat dissipation due to its design.

If you want a more stable flight and video you’ll have to fly slower and not fly in windy conditions.

The drone’s controller is comfortable and nicely made, its round and has phone support above for phones of all sizes. The controller has the 2 joysticks to control the drone as well as buttons to control the modes such as the one key take-off and landing

Battery

The Potensic D88 comes with a rechargeable 7,6V 3400mAh battery which you can charge with the USB Battery Charger, which can last about 20 minutes recording at 2K.

The battery is situated at the bottom back inside, where there is a cover that gives access to the battery. The D88 comes with only 1 battery, I recommend getting another one so you can change them whenever the first one runs out so you can put the first one to charge right away.

Design

The Potensic D88 has a very unique design art, with a cameo color and a face on the front, it is well built with good quality plastics. Its design shape is similar to most drones such as its predecessor Potensic D88 (Read Review Here), it feels pretty durable and has the ability to replace and switch pieces such as the protectors and propellers. It can fly up to 300 meters with a video connection.

The dimensions of the Potensic drone are 15.2 x 12 x 4.6 inches and weighs 5.25 pounds (2400g), it’s a decent-sized drone, all the adjustments and controls will be made from the controller and its screen with the live video, it also comes with a smartphone attachment for it to fly in FPV.

The drone has a classic quadcopter look with or without protective propellor blades, you can choose what you prefer, under the body we can see the small landing legs and the 2K camera to record your videos.

Modes

The Potensic D88 comes with many useful modes. When the battery is low, the signal is lost or you like to recover it to never lose your drone. You can enjoy your flight using the “Follow Me” or “Tap Fly” mode on the control page of the Potensic application.

You can use the app to set up the circle around an object and plan the desired route to focus on capturing photos and videos and having fun outdoors. In addition, it also has an advanced return Home option.

The D88 has a Return Home option which is a smart flight feature to help your drone land safely. D88 supports 3 smart return-to-home modes. One Key, Low Battery, and Failsafe. You no longer need to worry about losing your drone. It also has a Tap-fly mode which will fly along the path you draw on the app to focus on capturing photos and videos

You can set the flight distance of the D88, The combination of optical flow positioning and ultrasonic altitude determination can make the quadcopter float with precision and safer and more stable flight, better for beginner learning.

Circle Fly mode or also Point of Interest is a mode that will allow the drone to maintain its preset distance away from an exciting object while automatically orbiting it.

The D88 also allows you to change between different flying speeds, high and low, which helps beginners fly slower at the start.

My opinion

The Potensic D88 drone is a great option for most people who are looking for a great budget-quality drone with a great price, it’s a great option for beginners and more experienced flyers who want to upgrade to a better drone as well.

The D88 has all basic drone features plus more, as well as good flight, battery, and video support, it also comes with brushless motors to lower noise, greater stability, and improve durability.

The D88 is pretty easy to learn and will get you all those great aerial shots you would want in a drone and the great features it has will help you, it also carries a 3400 mAh batteries which will give you plenty of time to record your videos.

The 2K camera is situated on the front of the drone and thanks to the LED lights at the front we can see where the drone is flying and easier for night-time or low-light flying, we can also see LED in the bottom which indicates the calibration.

If you are looking for an FPV drone, this one will work well as well, it supports FPV and can go as far as 300 meters and can come back with a single button.
